Assistly Now Available as a Free App on Shopify

Assistly is now available as a Shopify App!

Shopify is a hosted application that allows you to set up a beautifully-designed online store to sell  your goods. Everything you need to open and run an online store is available right on the Shopify site. You organize your products, customize your storefront, accept credit card payments, and track and respond to orders. There are lots of great themes designed to be easy to use and beautiful to look at.

Now Shopify online retailers will be able to add Assistly as a free application and  provide world-class service and support to customers, just in time for the busy holiday shopping season.

The New Customer

The Internet has changed the way customers communicate. Businesses large and small have customers with high expectations. Customers reach out from everywhere with questions about orders, products, returns, and more–and they want answers quickly. Managing this avalanche of correspondence is “business critical,” especially during the holidays.

An Easy Way to Deliver Awesome Customer Service

With Assistly, Shopify stores can set up and deliver efficient customer service in minutes, with zero-touch onboarding. Shopify retailers can simply click to install the free Assistly app, which will help them create a free Assistly account and then integrate Assistly with their online store automatically. They can then deal with service demand in an organized way so that no issues fall through the cracks.

Assistly Has the Small Business in Mind

Assistly looks for service requests on all the traditional channels (phone, email, chat), and from social channels like Twitter and Facebook, collects them, and pulls them into one clean desktop for efficient resolution.

As with any Assistly account, there is a free 30-day trial, and the first full-time Assistly Agent is always FREE, as well. Assistly also comes with a customizable, out-of-the-box Help Center so customers can find their own answers, 24/7.

Here’s what Shopify customer Justin Winter of Diamond Candles has to say about the app:

“I’ve been using Assistly for several months, and it’s been a tremendously effective tool for our team. It handles our workflow flawlessly, and gives us confidence that no customer issues are dropped. I’m excited to see this partnership between Shopify and Assistly, because my fellow shop owners will be able to benefit from a world-class, affordable customer service system right from the Shopify App Store.”

It is interesting that the present Assistly website references Square (the company marketing the mobile phone credit card processing app) as a user of Assistly software, while simultaneously displaying an article about human-centric customer service.

At the time of this writing, Square (the company marketing the mobile phone credit card processing app) – a company that is said to use Assistly’s human-centric customer service software – prevents potential customers from communicating with Square via telephone (by not making a telephone number available).  Thus, it would seem that Square does not actually believe the human-centric customer service approach to be as important as the present Assistly website portrays it to be, even though Square is referenced by Assistly.

Square does in fact use the Assistly software. And they have real humans doing support. As you point out, they have optimized their support processes around self-service and email, not phone support. As a software tool provider, Assistly is not privy to the business decisions behind that decision — it is up to each company to decide which channels they feel are best for supporting their customers.

I have passed your comments on to Square’s support team. I know that they are diligent about feedback and seek to deliver a great product and service combination.
