Business Development Manager

The Business Development Manager will help dramatically accelerate customer acquisition through the development of strategic relationships. These relationships will fall in the categories of Distribution, Solution Integration, and International.
Working with the VP of Sales, this person will help assess high-potential partners across each category, build a strategic plan that prioritizes the opportunities, and manage the development/signing of commitments that make a clear contribution to growth targets. The ideal candidate will be familiar with Cloud technology, understand how to model a business justification, and have excellent communication skills.
A strong background in Sales process and a consistent track record of success achieving revenue targets is a requirement.
Responsibilities:
- Identify opportunities to influence top line revenue across all key categories: Distribution, Solution Integration, and International
- Help formalize the strategic plan for the Business Development function
- Socialize objectives internally to build consensus and support across functional teams to gather the necessary resources to make these relationships a success
- Manage a pipeline of relationships and provide regular updates to the executive team on the progress and expected impact on customer acquisition and revenue growth targets
- Partner with internal technical resources to execute partnerships/integrations with other leading cloud solutions that extend the value of Desk.com for our customers
Required Skills:
- Ambitious, driven, and professional individual who expects an industry leading compensation package in return for sales excellence
- 5-7 years of successful sales, business development, ISV/Channel experience
- Working knowledge of Salesforce.com, the CRM market and Force.com platform
- Direct or alliance sales experience selling enterprise solutions across all segments
- Exceptional communication, presentation and negotiation skills
- Planning, marketing and client relationship background
- Self starter with great time management skills
- Able to develop and nurture key relationships with executives and sales teams
- Must execute program objectives both as a thought leader and individual contributor in a fast-paced, changeable environment
- 25% travel to meet with potential partners
