Desk.com is building an Inside Sales team to help identify and support our target customers with the goal of generating profitable and scalable revenue. The team members need to be smart, motivated, proactive, organized - and able to work well in a fast-paced, team oriented environment.

As an Inside Sales Representative, you would identify target customers through a variety of online research tools (LinkedIn, Technology Blogs, Articles, groups, etc.) and perform a high-level analysis of the prospect's current support environment, identifying opportunities where Desk.com can create value. You would then engage the prospect by phone, email, twitter, etc. in order to introduce Desk.com. You will have the full support of our support organization to demo our solution with the goal converting the prospect into a Free Trial. During this period you would maintain close interaction with the prospect to ensure that they have a great experience and ultimately convert to a paying customer.

In order to do this job well you must be high-energy, confident, and creative. Experience in cold calling, sales pitches, general business development and SaaS a major plus. You will be given industry and product training so that you are able to work with our prospects to clearly understand their requirements and share Desk.com's value. The role offers you significant growth opportunities and is the training ground for sales and account management.

What you'll be doing

  • Greeting, assisting and ultimately partnering with prospective clients throughout the sales process
  • Developing sales tactics and strategies to build your territory
  • Researching opportunities to identify target prospects
  • Understanding a prospect's needs and effectively communicate how Desk.com will meet those needs
  • Calling and emailing executives at all levels to facilitate deal closure
  • Prioritizing opportunities and applying / coordinating appropriate resources
  • Attending local and regional networking and tradeshow events
  • Ensuring 100% satisfaction with all customers
  • Achieving Monthly Quota of qualified opportunity and closed business - consistently hitting and exceeding sales goals
  • Tracking activity in lead management tool
  • Collaborating with the sales team to fine tune the sales and post-sales process
  • Effectively managing your sales pipeline and developing a strategy for long-term sustained success
  • Constantly working to further develop your sales acumen and having too much fun in the process

  • Sound understanding of social media and social interaction management
  • Demonstrates compelling presentation skills over online presentation media
  • Strong communication skills - great with the written and spoken word
  • Proven success in acquiring new clients as well as experience cold calling and presenting sales pitches
  • 12 months experience in a sales role within the internet technology sector preferred
  • Technically adept, deeply experienced with web technologies
  • Sense of fun, wrapped in hard work
