Product Manager

We are seeking a highly-motivated Product Manager to contribute in shaping the future of our product and strengthening our online presence across web, tablet, and mobile devices. The trust of our customers of the utmost importance, and we need someone with the skills who ensure Desk.com remains a reliable and trustworthy service.You will work directly with the head of product, as well as the rest of the product team, to create experiences that reinforce the Desk.com brand and help wow our customers. This Product Manager will be responsible for defining the roadmap and requirements of core technologies powering the Desk.com application including infrastructure, database layer, security, scalability, performance, cache services, and other platform components.
What you’ll be doing:
- Work directly with the head of product while applying your analytical and creative abilities to define a product vision and innovative solutions that exceed user expectations.
- Define product requirements and manage prioritization of new features.
- Lead the product team to successful execution of multiple projects at a time, staying in control of both scope and schedule.
- Work with engineers and other cross-functional teams to incorporate feedback, make recommendations, and build consensus.
- Be a contributor to product launch activities.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 4–5 years as a technical Product Manager and/or Software Engineer.
- Degree in computer science, or equivalent experience.
- Strong understanding of both social and mobile web applications, as well as related technology trends.
- Proven track record for developing, managing, and launching large-scale web-based software products.
- Ability to make decisions quickly and independently, as well as relate technical enhancements to customer use cases.
- Outstanding written and verbal communication, as well as interpersonal skills.
- Agile, adaptable and capable of delivering new products and features iteratively.
The ideal candidate is:
- Experience in the help desk software, or large-scale web application space.
- Work experience with search technologies, key-value stores, NoSQL, relational database systems, and/or the Ruby technology stack.
- Experience as a technical architect.
- Experience as a product owner in an agile development team.
- Understanding of user-centered design principles as they relate to web applications.
