Sr. Manager, Sales Strategy & Operations

This is a job is headquartered at Salesforce but specifically designed to support sales strategy and operations for Desk.com, so you will be working on projects that span both organizations. Salesforce Sales Strategy & Operations is a hybrid of traditional jobs in strategy & planning, financial analysis and product marketing. The selected candidate will share responsibility for driving the continued success of Salesforce.com and our recent acquisition, Desk.com. Projects will include pipeline analysis, market segmentation, go-to-market process design & implementation. The work is based on market research; a vast amount of data captured by the Salesforce application; and discussions with executives, key stake holders and external experts. Deliverables take the form of strategic recommendations, analytic frameworks and driving execution through project management.
The successful candidate will possess a passion for creating scalable, repeatable analytics, and innovative analysis, and the wherewithal to develop findings and recommendations that transcend the numbers. Ideally, this person will have worked or interned at a top-tier management consultancy, in a product management role, at an investment bank, or acted in a similar capacity at another firm, and will feel comfortable interacting with senior management on a regular basis.
Responsibilities:
- Develop & deliver performance analysis and investment recommendations for senior executives
- Create and productize the analytics required to drive improvements in our business
- Support ongoing analysis of business performance required to inform executive decisions on a daily basis
- Drive the design and implementation of an optimum coverage model
- Work cross-functionally to establish reporting standards
- Interact regularly with the sales organization and other areas of the company
Desired Skills/Experience:
- Degree from top tier university, preferably in an analytical discipline such as engineering, computer science, economics, etc.
- Expert quantitative analysis and logical reasoning; experience using databases for analysis is a plus
- Creativity in developing actionable analysis and recommendations
- Self-starter and high degree of motivation to go above and beyond the task at hand
- Ability to succeed in a collaborative, start-up paced environment
- While not a requirement, 3-5 years of work experience in consulting, finance, or product management is desired
Nice to Have:
- Experience running analysis using salesforce.com
- Experience growing a Web/SaaS business
